If There Be Light by Lynne Moncrieff

Hello

This Finnabair stamp has been around for some time and caught my eye when I was (trying!) to organise my stamps and other craft supplies. On seeing the stamp, it brought to mind one of the quotes from PaperArtsy EAB collection.

That's Crafty! Pearl Inks provided the colour palette, soft grey, silvery tones merging into almost a charcoal black. I am keen to eek out some time to play around with the Pearl Inks as I am enjoying the effect of working with them alongside water and feel it is an area waiting to be explored some more.

Supplies

PaperArtsy Eclectica EAB02 Designed by Alison Bomber
Finnabair Cling Mounted Stamp Set Old Town 962029
That's Crafty! Pearl Inks: Black, Tree Bark, Silver
That's Crafty! Medium White Gesso
That's Crafty! Multi-Purpose Craft Adhesive
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Paints: Venice Blue, Steel Grey, Pewter
That's Crafty! Surfaces MDF Panels 8" x 8" Pack of 3
That's Crafty! Surfaces Rice Paper
Archival Ink Jet Black
Extras: grey embroidery thread, teabag, black thread, watercolour/rag paper

Instructions

I approached the paper the same way as recent projects, Gesso before misting with water and then applying the Pearl Inks.

At the same time, I also applied the same inks to That's Crafty! Rice Paper, when dry, tearing into strips

which were machine stitched to the background panel. A few scraps of the Rice Paper were kept aside for final touches.

A self-fill teabag was painted with PaperArtsy Fresco Chalks paints. Once, dry, stamping the Finnabair window with black ink. The stamped teabag was then machine stitched onto the panel.

The PaperArtsy EAB stamp, stamped onto Rice Paper (a scrap which had not been painted with Pearl Inks), was layered beneath the stamped teabag.

To the scraps of Rice Paper which I held back, stitches were added, by hand, with a silvery grey embroidery thread, layering onto the stamped focal.

The panel was then adhered to a That's Crafty! MDF Panel.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting this post today, it is greatly appreciated.

Kind Wishes
Lynne
