Sail Away by Samantha Read

Hello, I do hope the weather is inspired by this weeks creation I'd like to share with you!
I'm loving the new stamps designed by Melina Dahl, there's something about images of sailing boats that's peaceful yet exciting, the peace of being away from hustle and bustle and busy lives yet exploring new places and having grand adventures.

What I did

I began this project with a matchbox art shrine I adhered all the pieces together except for the front frame and then applied texture sand paste to cover all of the inside, a couple of coats of gesso and then some blue paints.

I then stamped the sun, sail boat, rocks and tree on shrink plastic and coloured using Posca paint pens and Prismacolour pencils, after colouring I shrunk the pieces using a heat gun. I then adhered the sun and sail boat in place, I added some silver paint and glitter glue for a bit of sparkle on the water.

To complete I applied a couple of coats of white gesso to the frame and used the same blue paints as before, I stamped the anchor and added the rocks and palm tree for dimension.

What I used

(From my stash; Ranger Stickles - Diamond, Shrink Plastic, Imagination Crafts Metallic Paint - Diamond)

I do hope you like and I've inspired you a little.
