Hello, I always used to love sending and receiving postcards, something that seems to be happening less often with people using social media instead. So today I'd like to share a quick make using the fabulous Sail Boats stamp set.
What I did
I began by giving my postcard surface some texture by using texture sand paste applied through a mask that I made using a Sizzix die, when this was dry I added a coat of gesso. I was trying to achieve a watercolour effect using acrylic paints, so I spritzed the paint and blew it around randomly. The boat was stamped on white card and coloured using watercolours and paint pens, cut out and adhered in place. To finish I highlighted the waves by applying white gesso on the raised surface detail, a little background stamping and some arty splats.
What I used
From my stash; Sizzix 'Wave' Die, Martha Stewart Paints - Pond, Rubber Ducky and Raspberry Ice. Black Ink.
I do hope you like it, thanks so much for looking, Sam xx
