Instructions
Working on the paper panel (rag paper but watercolour paper is a good substitute), Gesso was randomly applied before misting with the fabulous Flat Matte Sprays. At this early stage, with fingertips, I also applied random areas with Texture Sand Paste.
For the leaf, tea bag paper was stained with dissolved walnut ink crystals, allowing to dry thoroughly before stamping the leaf. To create detail on the stamped leaf, stitches were made by hand around the edge with a rusted washer placed over one of the circles within the stamp design.
Nature was taken from one of the That's Crafty! Lynne's Caved Leaves sets, stamped with Potting Soil ink onto a scrap of stained card.
A piece torn from the tea bag paper stained with Flat Matte Sprays.
You can also see the areas of Texture Paste.
The other areas where Texture Paste were applied.
Finally, the collage was adhered to a That's Crafty! 8"x8" MDF panel. The MDF panels or even the white/greyboard panels, are fabulous for collage, whether working directly onto the surface itself or as a means to stabilize your collage.
Until next time,
