Hi Everyone,
Welcome to my Thursday weekly post of Creativity
I have another Art Panel to share with you today that features a few That's Crafty Surfaces, That's Crafty Colours and some Carabelle Studio stencilling.
I began by creating the background - always a good place to start, right?
Working on a panel of Mixed Media paper cut to the required size I applied paint quite randomly and freely drying between each application and gradually building up layers and texture of colour.
I then stencilled the painted panel with the Carabelle Studio's stencil: Urban Graphics (new to stock) using black acrylic paint. When dry I added some white highlights to the stenciled design
and then mat n layered the background onto a That's Crafty 6x6 White/Greyboard surface that I painted white and a black card stock mount.
Working from the bottom to the top, the central feature is made up of:
- a panel of black card edged with some white pen lines,
- a panel of mount board painted white
- one of the sides from a That's Crafty's 3x3 MDF ATB's painted and stenciled in the same way as the background panel
and a That's Crafty bits and pieces 'Lock' that I treated with crackle paint and adhered to a piece of black card to blacken out the keyhole. I used two black brads to fix the lock in place.
To finish off I added a couple of quotes
thanks to Tim Holtz small talk stickers.

Incredible background layers, and that crackled padlock is so cool and sharp against the mixed media textures.
