Arty Card by Fliss Goodwin

Hello!

This week's card is rather an arty one and has lots of layers of paint and ink with stencilling and stamping.

What I Did:

I first used one of Melina's gorgeous new masks to add a pattern round the edges of a piece of thick cartridge paper cut to fit a 5 x 7 card, using diluted lavender multi surface paint. I then applied diluted yellow multi surface paint in the central white area left.

I stamped one of the gorgeous new flower collection images in the centre with black ink, stamping again on white cartridge paper. I then painted the separate image with flat matte sprays, using Basil, Rose and Saffron. I cut out just the flower heads and the leaves.

I next stamped a script image on randomly using purple ink and without using an acrylic block for a softer look. I partially stamped the butterfly going off the edge and the postmark using black ink. I then took one of Lynne's carved leaf stamps and stamped this round the edges using second generation stamping and purple ink (the first impression was too strong but I think you'll see some purple leaves from me soon as I loved them!).

I added detail to the butterfly and postmark with flat matte sprays painted on and then glued the painted flower heads and leaves in place. I stamped on the nature text and gave the panel a purple mat before sticking to my card blank.

Supplies:
Extras - 5 x 7 White Card Blank, Smooth White Cartridge Paper

Have a great weekend and see you next week.

  1. Very arty indeed Fliss, and very beautiful. I love the boldness of the flower in the centre and the stamped leaves give a wonderful ethereal feel to the whole piece! Anne xx
