Instructions
I like to prep the MDF by randomly applying Gesso, even though I know that the surface will be covered with paper, it's just something I like to do.
The teabag paper which I would be layering to the MDF was paper I used as underpaper when I was drying stained papers. By happenstance, the result was a beautiful, naturalistic mottled effect, the same paper as used on the recent Artist Trading Block.
With Gel Medium, I adhered the stained paper to the MDF.
The focal of this project, a beautiful leaf stamp. I had a piece of handmade paper which was slightly scrunched which I could have smoothed out/ironed but decided to take a leap of faith and stamp the leaf onto this piece, the stamp overlapping two pieces of the paper.
Before adhering the two off-cuts of branches, again with my fingertips, Bronze and Interference Gold paint were applied to the panel,
The final touches, two off-cuts from branches with Sand Paste applied to the bottom piece, the final touch, an old button.
Thank You for taking the time to visit,

Dear Lynne, I love how your piece is airy and light, because of the patches not totally adhered, but with loose corners, and the sewing on the leaf , so lovely !! Such beautiful colors, too - a gorgeous creation! xxx
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful - like a sigh of contemplation.

This piece is beautiful. The combination of papers and layers build so much interest, the leaf stamped wonderfully and the stitching adds that extra special touch.
ReplyDeleteAnother textural beauty, Lynne . ❤️ x
