Trust the Magic with Helen Chilton

It's Helen here with a triptych using some Finnabair stamps - really good value - and one of the new stencils from Melina. I didn't paint the whole thing this time but just stencilled a design in white to block out some of the MDF.

Then I twisted the stencil :

and stencilled again in Shimmer Yellow:

I repeated that, this time using Shimmer Turquoise:

After that it's a matter of stamping. These sets have some great background designs as well as that perfectly sized window.

Inside I used the large circular design first and then added some paving for the rest.

The lady was stamped onto card and coloured with Jane Davenport's ColorSticks:

You can also use these to add some colour directly to the MDF as I've done here:

I finished with painted embellishments:

and a couple more stamped images:

I then gave it all a coat of the luscious liquid wax.
Supplies:
Prima Finnabair Cling Mounted Stamps: Trust the Magic, Old Town
That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints: White
That's Crafty! Shimmer Paints: Yellow, Turquoise
Jane Davenport Making Faces ColorSticks - Soul Window
That's Crafty! Acrylic Liquid Wax - 120ml

I love these triptychs - they're big enough to get your teeth into but not too overwhelming. You can fit a lot of detail on there and try out all sorts of backgrounds.
Hope you enjoyed this one!
Helen

  1. This is really gorgeous Helen. The background is fabulous and such clever use of that stencil. Great details from the stamping too.
