Beltane Bear by Samantha Read

Hello, it's May so hopefully some of those epic April showers will bring lots of May flowers, here's a cute bear surrounded by lovely blooms.

What I did

I began with a MDF panel and added texture at the top and bottom with Texture Sand Paste and a stencil followed by a couple of coats of white gesso. I added random bits of colour and stamped some background flowers which I coloured using watercolour paints, I added more details with some of the new stamps designed by Lynne Moncrieff. Then I simply added a cute Magda Polakow bear and a painted greyboard flower. I used some lace from my stash and some of the new brightly coloured leaf skeletons which were on the shows. I finished by adding white and gold highlights, a sticky gem and ribbon for hanging.

What I used

That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints - I used; Lime, Teal, Mustard Yellow and Christmas Red
(From my stash; ribbon, lace, watercolour paints, sticky gem and highlighting pens)

I do hope you like it, see you next Wednesday, Sam xx

  1. Such a cute panel Sam. Little bear looks so at home amongst the gorgeous flowers and leaves and the background is fabulous.
