Believe.... by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my Thursday post of Creativity!
This week I have created what I call an 'Art Card' - a card that can be multipurposed, so it could be sent as a card, displayed as a piece of art or it could also be used as a journal cover or even a journal page. As you can see its rich in geometric shapes and colour!

I began with the background and this was created by using 1 stencil in 2 different ways -to stencil with and to mono-print with.
The mono printing came first and to do this I applied 3 different colours of acrylic paint randomly onto AALL and Create's #81 stencil designed by Olga Heldwein. I then spritzed the paint with water, turned the stencil over and placed it onto a precut panel of mixed media paper. In essence I was using the stencil like you would a stamp. Taking a cloth I pressed on the stencil before removing it to reveal a watercolored print of the 'positive' stencil design.
After drying with a heat gun I repositioned the stencil onto the mono-print I had created and randomly applied black acrylic paint through the 'negative' space of the stencil design.

For the central circle I die cut a circle from mixed media paper and applied black modelling paste through part of StencilGirl®'s 'Retreat Circle' stencil designed by Seth Apter.
Distress inks provided the colour this time and they were applied with a blending tool.
After adding some white highlights to the stenciled circles and adhering a whiteboard shape to one of them I couldn't resist splattering some white gesso about!
The stenciled circle has a black circle mount that I treated to some white pen mark's around the circumference

and once I adhered it centrally on the background I added a simple word thanks to a 13 Arts sticker.

The panel was mat and layered on white and black card before being adhered to a handmade card base.
