Hello World! by Helen Chilton

Hi there, it's Helen here today with a card. I'm using some stamps that I've had for ages  here - Viva Las Vegastamps! Plate 1404. I was originally drawn by the floral panel which is a good sized stamp.

I stamped the panel first using a Stamp Positioner and some Oxides - leave the stamp on the platform.

Then because I can't cope with too much white space, I pulled out some of the colour with a waterbrush.

Let it dry then go back to your stamp and restamp certain areas to add definition. Work on a small area at a time.

You can ink up quite small details this way. See how the stalks, petals and leaves become much more defined. The face is just stamped in black and coloured with both Oxides and Distress inkpads, letting the colours run and mix.

I wanted to add a bit of a border then so used the bottom edge of the face stamp.

Add any embellishments and layer up.

I love playing around with the stamp positioner - you could also outline some of the details in black if you like (use an inkpad - a mini one would be good - or a felt pen).

Supplies:
Viva Las VegaStamps! - Plate 1401
Distress Oxides: Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Broken China
Distress inkpads: Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Broken China
Ranger Archival: Jet Black
