That's Crafty! Mandala Stencil is such a favourite of mine, especially stencilling with Texture Paste onto calico. I wanted to use this stencil with paste onto three different sized calico panels, forming them into hangings.
The other two panels can be seen in an article in the latest issue of Somerset Studio.

Instructions
Begin by tearing calico to required length. Stencil Mandala with Texture Paste. I focused my attention on the central element of the Mandala stencil and began in the middle of the calico panel. Once this was stencilled, I carefully moved the stencil, aligning it above the central stencilled area and finally, below the central stencilled area.
To achieve a distressed effect, I ensured I did not apply Texture Paste to the full central design of the stencil.
Once dry, time to stain the panel. Dissolving coffee granules in an old roasting tin, I then submerged the stencilled panel. Then removing and drying on flat, absorbent surface. Keep in mind that the calico will dry lighter.
Prepare the MDF heart by first applying the Rust Finish Kit. Once this is dry, lightly highlight texture with the gorgeous Antique Gold Multi-Surface paint from That's Crafty! This will be adhered to the calico panel, with a small, also coffee stained shipping tag, suspended below the tag but first, ink up Affirmation, stamping directly onto tag. Adhere this to panel, embellishing heart with button threaded with twine and wrapping the tag string around the heart. Adhere rusted washer to hole of tag.
For the upper edge of the panel, a scrap of vintage linen ribbon, stitched to large rusted safety pin.
To the panel, I added other elements, really from found items I have which have been rusted. A washer which I wrapped with nettle yarn, the same yarn wrapped around a twig,
and a wee scrap of stained calico, stitched with primitive cross stitch to panel.
I love all the wonderful details, here, the safety pin holding it, the branches, the way you have used the cord around the ring, the stunning heart and of course the stenciled fabric - so beautiful coffee stained . A gorgeous art piece dear friend. <3 xxx
