Butterfly Days By Lynne Moncrieff

Hello

Sharing a panel this week, with distressed layers upon layers with a stamped ATCoin as a focal.
Although I haven't embraced the ATCoin craze, I like having the That's Crafty! ATCoins in my stash to add as focals on projects.

Supplies

That's Crafty! Clear Stamp Set Textures Collection Set 2
That's Crafty! Clear Stamp Set Textures Collection Set 3
That's Crafty! Clear Stamp Set Lynne's Wildflowers Set 2
That's Crafty! Surface MDF Panel 6"x6" Pack of 3
That's Crafty! Surface MDF ATCoin Pack of 10
That's Crafty! Walnut Ink Crystals
That's Crafty! Mixed Media Journal Kit (Rice Paper and Corrugated Cardboard)
That's Crafty! Texture Paste Sand
That's Crafty! Texture Paste
That's Crafty! Flat Matte Spray: Aqua, Basil, Sage, Walnut
13Arts Gravel Powder Light Grey
Memento Ink Tuxedo Black
Other: Rec-cycled Corrugated Cardboard Packaging, Tag, Book Page

Instructions

Begin by staining re-cycled corrugated cardboard and cardboard paper along with rice paper, book text, a small shipping tag and That's Crafty! corrugated cardboard which I squished with a brayer. To the MDF panel and ATCoin, adhere rice paper. Lay the ATCoin aside for the moment to focus on the MDF panel, building up layers, distressed layers.

Allow some of the edges to overhang the MDF panel for interest.

Curl, tear, distress edges, any which way.

Swipe Texture Paste and Sand Paste onto the areas, allowing to dry.

Adhere the tag, horizontally to the upper left corner of the panel, allowing tag's string to hand down.

Apply small areas of Gravel Powder to areas of the panel.

Once Gel Medium is dry, colour the Gravel with Aqua mixed with Walnut and also the walnut ink crystals, creating a mottled effect.

Stamp butterfly onto prepared ATCoin, adhere to panel. Stain two small pieces of handmade paper into walnut ink, once dry, partially stamp words from an Affirmation and the numbers 721 onto the second piece. Adhere words from Affirmation onto tag

with the stamped numbers layered beneath the ATCoin.

Thank you for your visit to this post.

If you are bitten by the ATCoin bug, then That's Crafty! is the place to visit for the surfaces themselves which are available in greyboard or MDF, also stamps and stencils designed for ATCoins but also beyond that surface and not only that, a choice of ATCoin storage!

Until next time,
Lynne

  2. Absolutely beautiful distressed layers Lynne. Love the textures on there and the subtle blue with the natural browns is so lovely. The butterfly looks gorgeous as the focal point too.
