Hi Everyone
Happy New Year to you all as I try to get back into my crafty flow for 2019 after a hectic Christmas and New Year, sadly not through enjoying myself but through working!! (ahh the joys of working in retail)
Anyway I am here with you today with my first post for 2019 with a card whose words will hopefully inspire you all for the year ahead.
Here's What I Did:
I started with a piece of white mixed media card, you could use any thick white uncoated card, and randomly coloured using an ink blending tool, the section I was going to stencil over, with a selection of Distress inks.
Once the Distress inks were dry helped by a blast with a heat gun I stencilled through the 13arts stencil with That's Crafty! 3D Gloss Gel Medium and left it to dry overnight, it doesn't take that long to dry but this card was made taking stolen moments from my current busy schedule.
I then covered the entire piece of card with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink (this makes the face really stand out) for a little more interest to the black I splashed on water and removed a little of the colour. Onto the black space I stamped the circles using Versamark ink and applied white embossing powder and heat embossed. I added a strip of washi tape from my stash and then stamped out my sentiment onto a piece of white card, cut out and added to the card. All was then mounted onto black card and added to a DL card blank.
Here's What I Used:
Distress Inks - Barn Door, Carved Pumpkin, Lemonade, Picked Raspberry & Twisted Citron
Distress Oxide Inks - Black Soot
13 Arts Stencil - Face
Lost Coast Design Stamp - Fish and Hearts
PaperArtsy Stamps Set - AEB07 Dreaming & Doing (by Alison Bomber)
Washi tape from my stash but loads HERE
DL Card Blank
I hope you have a fabulous week and I will see you all next Tuesday
Love

What a fabulous effect with the gloss gel over the inking - it looks like polished enamel - and an amazing stencil too, of course.

Fantastic card Amanda. The stencilled face is amazing with the coat of gloss gel and the black and white areas really made those bright colours pop.

Love this card. I tried to purchase the face stencil right away but Craftsy is sold out! The face stencil over the colors and using the 3D gloss looks so so cool! I guess I will have to wait patiently for the 13 Arts face stencil. I do have the circles from Lost Coast. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, this is absolutely stunning! I love the colours on the face and it stands out so beautifully against the black background, as to those circles. Someone is going to be very lucky to receive this card! Anne xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, Amanda and such effective use of the stamps and stencils .
