Hi Everyone
Welcome to my Thursday weekly post!
Having recently added That's Crafty's 'slim and slender' long tags to my surfaces collection I was keen to create with one as its a size I haven't worked with before. The tags are sold in packs of 18, are a good quality greybeard and there are 3 different designs to the tops of the tag- so something to suit everyone!
I opted to work with the regular tag top that we are all familiar with and as paints were my medium of choice I decided to challenge myself to 'ban the brushes' and use only a palette knife or my fingers to apply the paint!!
I felt it was time for an injection of colour too so I 'bigged' up the brights but of course I couldn't neglect my much loved black!
I covered the tag with tissue tape, sealing it with a coat of matt medium applied by finger. Once dry I then roughly scraped gesso over some, not all of the taped surface using a palette knife. Next I applied paint, again using a palette knife working one colour at a time and drying between each colour application.
The final colour applied was black - I love how one colour can make all the difference!
To finish the tag background I added a touch of text stamping, some 'Big Chat' stickers which I coloured with Distress Crayons, a couple of pieces of ideology and an eyelet to cover the tag hole which I laced with ribbon.
For the focal feature I finger painted a That's Crafty ATCoin with black acrylic paint. Once dry I decorated with an inner circle of paint dots created by dipping the nib of a pencil into paint (no brushes, remember!) I also adhered a die cut which I roughly finger painted and lightly stamped.
The Star that sits atop is a Seth Apter wood chip which I primed with gesso, finger painted and then stamped and heat embossed. The stamp I used for this is one by PaperArtsy that was designed by Seth to use with his wood chips. The stamps can of course be used without the woodchips as the designs are so versatile and lend themselves to a whole number of uses.
The star is embellished with a piece of 'roughly' painted ideology.
As always with my creations I like the finished project to have some dimension.

I love this long length tag - very cool shape (may have to go shopping now!), and layering it with the ATCoin and the star gives it a really great dimensional boost. Amazing paintwork, as ever.
