Hello!
I was really short on time this week so I have a quick journal page to share which actually has quite a bit of detail but doesn't look quick. It only took me half an hour which for me is very unusual I can tell you!
Step by Step:
My journal is A5 size as I find this the easiest to cope with as there isn't quite so much white space to fill. My first step was to spritz the page with several Flat Matte Sprays. I used Saffron, Rose, Bluebell and Basil, misting in the order the colours are shown and then blotted the page with a paper towel to take off the excess spray.
I then took a set of texture stamps and began adding detail. I used dye inks, turquoise for the striped design, bright pink for the circles and lime for the sequin waste. I applied all the images without using an acrylic block for a muted effect.
I stamped on some of the lovely flowers and leaf sprigs from Melina's gorgeous new stamp set using black ink. As you can see, I only stamped part of the leaf sprig in the centre to add more interest. I found some toning washi tape in my stash (amazing what you find when you have an enforced declutter!) and added some here and there.
I added some colour to the flowers and leaves with Kuretake Zig Clean Color pens in colours to tone in with the rest of the page.
I stamped the quote from one of my fanciful flowers stamp set at the bottom with black ink and added the arrow from the texture set, stamped with bright pink ink and outlined with a black Posca pen to finish.
