Decorated Notebook Cover with Teabag Paper by Lynne Moncrieff

Hello
I continue to play with the fabulous teabag paper, this week allowing me to decorate simple, kraft notebook/sketchbook covers.

Towards the end of this post, I share an alternative notebook/sketchbook cover, working with a smaller sized, A6 book and using the smaller Art Word Flower stamp.

Supplies

That's Crafty! Clear Stamp Set Lynne's Word Flowers Set 4
That's Crafty! Clear Stamp Set Lynne's Affirmations Set 12
That's Crafty! Walnut Ink Crystals and Teabag Paper Set Tea bag Paper also sold  Individually
That's Crafty! Lustre Gold Spray
Memento Ink Tuxedo Black
Extras: kraft cover notebook/sketchbook, sewing machine, black thread, button, handmade paper.

Instructions

Gather leftover pieces of walnut ink stained teabag paper or prepare by staining teabag paper. Once dry, tear into strips. Lay aside for the moment while the Art Word Flower (this is the larger sized stamp from the set), is stamped onto handmade paper.  Roughly plan placement of the papers. To do this, I placed the pieces on the notebook/sketchbook cover as this was a way for me to gauge the size I wanted the stitched panel to be, I wanted a Kraft cover border to remain. Take the panel to sewing machine or alternatively, begin to adhere with adhesive/medium and later you can include some stamped stitching/stencilled stitches or doodled.

Unscrew top from spray Lustre Gold and merely place the end of the spray tube onto select areas.  The paper will soak up the Lustre and once dry, those wee areas of Lustre Gold highlight the panel.

Adhere panel to cover with adhesive, finally embellishing cover with button.

For the inside, stamp "Be The Artist Who...." from Affirmations Set 12 onto scrap of walnut stained teabag paper.

Alternative Idea featuring smaller sized Art Word Flower stamp. When you build up a stash of walnut stained teabag paper, you have the freedom to play around with placement and a cover can be embellished in relatively little time.

Until next week,
Wishes
Lynne
