Love that quote - it's from one of Lynne's Affirmations sets which I've used in this project.
I decided to work on fabric this time and tore a panel from the calico that comes in the mixed media journal kit. I've stuck it with masking tape to a piece of card to start with as this gives a hard base to stamp on.
Stamp the phrase randomly in permanent ink.
Then use the stamp positioner to overstamp the tree. You often need to stamp several times onto calico to get a good impression so the stamp positioner (whatever brand you've got) is invaluable.
I've then backed it with card because it's going on a brightly coloured background, layered onto some cream burlap and stitched away.
The stencilled layer is also on cream burlap using sprays through one of That's Crafty!'s stencils. It works really well even though it's quite a textured fabric.
Add embellishments as you please.
I love that tree, it's so delicate. In fact I'm slowly collecting all of Lynne's stamps as I really like them!
Enjoy!
Helen
