Hi Everyone
I have been playing in my art journal for my post this week.
With the weather being considerably cooler this past weekend I managed to spend several hours just playing in my craft room, something I haven't managed for weeks due to the unbearable heat that rendered the room a furness!!
Here's What I Did:
This is a page in my black Dylusions journal, onto which I had previously glued on some torn sheet music and scraped heavy white gesso onto and then left it to be returned to another day, this weekend was that another day.
I first applied a light brayer of white gesso and then some magenta acrylic paint which I smeared on using my fingers. Around that I blended in several colours of Distress crayons, these really move and blend lovely over the gesso. Using the Mandala stencil from That's Crafty! I wiped away some of the Distress crayon using a baby wipe.
This is the effect from wiping away the Distress crayon. Still using the Mandala stencil I added some more stencilling using black Archival ink and a blending tool. This gives a more pronounced effect of the stencil.
I then stencilled the face stencil from Stencil Girl, again using black Archival and a blending tool (there are several layers of ink). I then added more stencilling using a filmstrip stencil from my stash, this time I have used Picket Fence Distress ink and a blending tool this was to add some white contrast to the page. Onto a separate piece of thin card I stamped the Alfred Hitchcock image in black Archival and cut him out and added him to my page with matte medium.
This page is my homage to the film Phycho as I added the quote from the film spoken by Norman Bates about this mother "She just goes a little mad sometimes. We all go a little mad sometimes. Haven't you"? I know I can relate to that quote, lol. This was typed out on my old typewriter and added with matte medium.
