Hi everyone,
It's Donna here today with a fab MDF Round and some of Lynne's lovely Affirmations.
What I did:
Using the smallest MDF Round (not the ATC coin size) I painted it with a coat of Multi Surface paint (Metallic Ice Blue) then I covered it with a thin layer of Crackle Glaze, left that to dry thoroughly and then coated it with another layer of Multi Surface paint (Teal) and then sat back and watched the cracks appear...very satisfying!
The next step was to add a little bit of background stamping with a couple of hand carved stamps using black Archival ink, you can use any stamps for this but make sure they don't dominate the background.
I then added a sticky label that I had in my stash from a Gelli print session using the Random Ovals stencil from That's Crafty! I doodled on it to replicate the look of stitching.
There is a piece of painted MDF that I added that was a left over piece from a creation made from a That's Crafty! shrine...yes sometimes I do save all the little off cuts up!
The star of the show was added next, which is the Goddess face which was stamped on Strathmore Mixed Media paper, coloured in with a selection of Distress Markers and then fussy cut out and adhered on top of the MDF leftover piece.
I glued two threaded buttons onto the Round and left the thread to dangle down quite a lot as it would be hanging up so I thought that would create a nice effect.
I stamped the sentiment from one of Lynne's Affirmations from the same set (set 10) and then added some twine to hang the Round.
I absolutely adore this image so much, something very mystical and mysterious about her isn't there ;)
