Hi everyone,
It's Donna here today and I thought I'd share with you the three cards I made with Ingrid's wonderful new stamps and stencils for That's Crafty! which were created for the Hochanda show on Monday just gone.
These were really quick and simple to create so I'll write a brief description under each one for you :)
Take a sheet of Strathmore Mixed Media paper and spray the new Lustre Spray (Aubergine) through the Boho Arrows stencil. These sprays are just amazing and a photo cannot do the shimmer you get with them justice!
Stamp the feather with black Archival ink onto another piece of the Strathmore paper and colour in using a mixture of red and yellow That's Crafty! Flat Matte Sprays. Fussy cut the feather out and adhere to the arrows background with a couple of foam dots. Stamp the sentiment with black Archival ink just underneath the feather. Mount onto black card and then white cardstock.
That's the first card finished.
Take a sheet of the Strathmore paper again and stamp the flower and leaf directly onto it with Versamark and emboss with white embossing powder. Spray liberally with the Lustre Spray in aubergine again and thoroughly dry. Again use a mixture of the Flat Matte sprays to colour the flower and leaf in with. Do this by dropping a little bit of the colour onto your craft mat and pick it up with a water brush for a great water colour effect.
Then stamp the sentiment with black Archival ink, mount onto black and then white cardstock...that's card number two finished for you.
Now onto the last card. Once again the flower and leaf were stamped three times onto the Strathmore paper but this time I coloured them in with my Zig pens (Distress Markers would work just as well) and fussy cut them out. I then selected a Washi tape from my ever growing stash (yes I love the stuff) and opted for the black and white as I thought it made a striking contrast to the rich colours of the flowers and leaves.
Stick the Washi tap onto the card front and layer the flowers and leaves with some foam pads for extra dimension. Add a Tim holt sentiment and yes that's card number three finished too.
I really enjoyed making these cards in the limited time I had but sometimes if you don't have time to think too much you can create things much easier I think ;)

There is a lovely sense of the feather floating downwards on the first card.
ReplyDeleteA great collection of cards and shows just how much you enjoyed getting inky with Ingrid's new stamps.
