Let Nature Be Your Calming Breath - A Hanging by Lynne Moncrieff

Hello

This week, I thought I would share a sample I made for the That's Crafty's May appearance on HOCHANDA.

This hanging features Rice Paper and Teabag Paper.  At the time I worked with papers included in the Surfaces A5 Journal Kit but the good news, there is a new kit available, Surfaces Mixed Media Paper/Card Kit which also includes the aforementioned papers and many more.

Just to say..That's Crafty! return to HOCHANDA on 19th June. Please keep your eyes peeled for sneaky peeks from the D.T.

Supplies

That's Crafty! MDF Round (working with 8" size Round)
That's Crafty! Light Texture Paste
That's Crafty! 6.5"x7.5" Stencil - Daisies - C7031
Rice Paper and Teabag Paper From Surfaces A5 Journal Pack (eco dyed)
That's Crafty! Lynne's Wildflowers Stamp Set2 - A5
Distress Crayons
Archival Designer Series Potting Soil Ink Pad
That's Crafty! Multi-Surface Paint Ivory
Gel Medium
Water Brush
Palette Knife
Twig
Rusty Tin Wire

Instructions

Torn pieces of eco dyed calico, rice paper, teabag paper, pieces of calico and book text, where adhered to the large Round. Onto this, two of the daisies were stencilled with Light Texture Paste. Once dry, the daisies were lightly coloured with Distress Crayons, working with Hickory Smoke, Ground Espresso and Walnut Stain - the Light Texture Paste provides the light contrast. A waterbrush was used to activate the crayons.

I stamped the first sentiment from the Wildflowers Set 2 onto another piece of eco dyed rice paper.

There are pre-drilled holes in each MDF Round, I cut two pieces of rusted, tin wire, slipping one through each hole, twisting the wire before wrapping each piece to either side of a twig, which had been rolled in Ivory paint for a distressed effect.

Until next week,

Wishes
Lynne
