Visit Water World by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

It's Donna here today featuring the cutest Narwhal from the Water World stamp set designed by Magda Polakow for That's Crafty!....see I told you he was cute!!

What I Did:

I decided that as this was a water world stamp set I wanted to create a sort of porthole effect. So once again I grabbed the smallest MDF Round for this and drew around a circular object for the middle of the porthole.

Then I set about painting it a red and blue colour with That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints. I added the shadowing with a black water colour pencil to give the effect of some depth.

I created the 'screws' with a metallic silver Posca pen and also used the Posca pens for doodling on the background too.

The little fishes, coral and bubbles were stamped onto the background using black Archival ink and these too were coloured also using a mixture of Posca pens.

The Narwhal was stamped onto a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media Paper and then coloured in with a diluted Mermaid Marker, with the highlights added by a white Posca pen. I decided to do his little horn as red and white striped....so sweet!

He was then fussy cut out and adhered to the background. I added some twine as a hanging and then for a finishing touch I added a Tim Holtz sentiment.

I hope you like my introduction to Water World ;)

Supplies Used:

  2. Look at this sweet little Unicorn of the sea, love how you have given him a super stripey tusk Donna. The porthole feature is fab, giving the effect of looking out or is it looking in??
