Paint your Dreams, Mixed Media Wall Hanging by Melina Dahl

Hi!

It´s Melina here today sharing this wall hanging that I made using the Doodled Shrooms
stamps set and white/greybard matches.

My steps:

I paint the greyboard matches on the white side using Multi Surface Paints. Not too bothered
about getting the paint exactly where the details from the stamps are going to be.

I use black Distress Oxide to stamp onto the shapes and then heat emboss the
image using clear embossing powder.

I find it easier to line up the stamp with the greyboard shape
by pressing the shape down on the stamp.

I use a white/greyboard panel and start to work on the background.
I apply That´s Crafty! Texture Paste through stencil TC7015, and then use different
shades of green Multi Surface Paint and white gesso to paint the panel.
I also paint two fairy greyboard pieces and glue them down using
That´s Crafty! Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive.

Before gluing all my pieces down I make some splashes with gesso.
I adhere thread and big art stones to build a ground for the shrooms to stand on.
I stamp the title using part of a stamp from Lynne´s Affirmations Set 4.

I use a white Posca pen to doodle some details on the shrooms.
At last I make holes in the fairies wings and attach a string and my hanger is finished.

Thank you for stopping by today and hope to see you again next week!
xx Melina

  1. The sweetest Forest Melina, which I would love to live in with it's bright happy colours. How clever to use the fairies to extend the panel and create a hanger. A beautiful display.
