Happy Easter everyone!
I have a mixed media creation this week in rather different colour tones to my usual bright style inspired by the leaf, which was the first thing I did with the white/greyboard matches for my stamps as an experiment. This tag was the end result and is my homage to nature, one of my main sources of inspiration.
The first thing I did was to cover the tag with crinkled tissue paper which when dry, I gave a wash of diluted yellow multi surface paint followed by a second was of diluted chestnut brown.
I then used the fern mini stencil to add a random pattern, starting first with undiluted chestnut brown and following up with further stencilling in progressively more diluted paint in the same shade. As you'll see, it looks like the fading out you get from second and third generation stamping.
I took a piece of recycled corrugated card, tearing off some of the top surface to add texture and painting with green and lime green multi surface paints which were slightly diluted. I then swiped on some bronze metallic paint to add shine and contrast.
I painted a white/greyboard match leaf with a mix of red, orange and chestnut brown and then stamped on the matching leaf, heat embossing with antique gold embossing powder.
I assembled the tag as you see, adding a scrap of handmade paper from my stash, coloured with diluted brown paint and some text from one of the inspirational quotes, stamped on mixed media paper coloured with diluted green paint. I tied some sari silk ribbon through the top.

So beautiful, I love your background, with the ferns, and admire you for the fantastic stenciling using paint. I can find it rather difficult, to get a clear print using paint!! The colors are also so very douche and lovely, and as I wrote on your blog, the leaf is so gorgeous ,too- and on the green background it really shine .Such a wonderful creation, dear Fliss.
