Life is Wonderful by Dorthe Hansen

Hello all, I’m so happy to be back this Monday with my Life Is Wonderful, as nature and weather has behaved very beautifully this last week.

Inspired by that, I created another nature piece for my That`s Blogging Crafty sample.

Starting with one of my favorite white/greyboard panels with rounded corners, I adhered a lovely old piece of cotton velvet with the Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive, and left to dry. In between I coloured one of the new beautiful embellishment leaves, using first the gorgeous Metallic Gold paint and when dry I used the leaf stencil complementing the form of the embellishment leaf, to add Distress Oxide  Antique Linen.

I also added Antique Linen to a piece of ordinary copy paper and after stamping the gorgeous toadstool from PaperArtsy Scrapcosy ESC05, fussy cut it out.
Then I used the leaf stencil again but this time, directly onto the velvet background with white Texture Paste. When dry, I distress painted it with the Metallic gold and also added a little to the toadstool .

The toadstool was adhered to the velvet, standing on a piece of nature bark, from my stash of finding in nature. It also got a few strokes with the Gold paint. A little lovely embellishment bird was coloured with Metallic Silver and details were made with Brush Markers and a black Sharpie.

Life is wonderful was stamped onto the rest of the Antique Linen coloured copy paper with Archival Ink Coffee and torn out.

Bird was adhered on top of the toadstool, Walnut Ink dyed lace adhered to top and button of panel and the leaf adhered on top of lace in the bottom, the text adhered to the top lace piece.

Lastly I tore pieces from musical paper, adhered it to right side, added an artificial “bouquet” of berries, Sari Silk placed through two holes, made with the Crop-A-Dile and strokes of beautiful Gold paint added here and there on the velvet.

Thank you for following me to the end of my post, I really treasure your kind comments.

Hugs and love

Dorthe
