Dreaming of a White Christmas by Fliss Goodwin

A bit of wishful thinking from me this week as I have a Christmas card to share (can I hear groans lol). This is one of the images from Donna’s gorgeous new Christmas sets and the oxide inks have come out to play again.

Ingredients:

Distress Oxide Inks – Faded Jeans, Broken China, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Fossilised Amber

Recipe:

Cut a piece of mixed media paper to fit your chosen card blank (mine is a square kraft card) and as you’ll see, I’ve used the bit torn off the pad as I love the shabby look it gives the card.

I then added patches of the 2 blue shades of Oxide ink to my craft mat, misted them with water and pressed on the paper to pick up the ink. I carried on with this until I was happy with the effect.

I next stamped on the cottage scene with the sepia ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then painted the image using the other shades of Oxide ink. I find if you pick up the colour with a damp brush and paint, it gives really good coverage on top of the underneath colour of ink.

I used the Poinsettia Tree stencil, which has some handy snowflakes, with the embossing dabber to stencil on some snow which I heat embossed with the white embossing powder.

I added the panel to my card blank and finished off with my chosen text sticker.

We have another great new challenge for you today over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so do hop over to see how you can win a fab prize just for entering. It’s a lovely theme too!

Have a great weekend and see you next week.
