Hi
there, I have a colourful journal page to share this week with lots of layering
with inks, paints and stamps. The text
stamp I used is one that resonates with me at the moment as I’m about to change
my life completely to follow my creative spirit and see where it leads.
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – Textures Sets 1 and 2, Lynne’s Affirmations Set 2
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks – Broken China, Twisted Citron, Faded Jeans
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints – Haystack, Amethyst, Orchid
Sizzix Frameworks Chevron Border Die (I used the leftover bits – waste no, want not
lol)
Scrap
of toning paper (mine was a Gelli print scrap)
Recipe:
The
first step is to colour the background, which I did by adding Distress Oxides
to my craft mat, misting with water and picking up the colour on my page. I
repeated this until I was happy with the colour.
I
then added splashes of paint, mostly around the edges using the paints and
gesso. I added some more dots of paint using a brush.
I
stamped the text roughly in the centre and followed up with various circle
images from the texture stamp sets using the black Archival ink. I added a
little doodled stitching using a fine black marker pen. I stamped the number
image in a couple of places also with black ink.
I
found a strip of toning paper in my Gelli print scraps folder and added this to
my page. I stamped my chosen text on the page with black ink.
The
finishing touch to my page was to add the leftover pieces from die cutting the
chevron border out of black and white card, they come in very useful as you can
see.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
