Hello everyone. A little fun project
for this week's crafty inspiration. Bentley gets married. I do love Bentley and
he's always dreaming of happy times. His dreams have finally come together in
the shape of Mrs Right. I have to say that this piece did come about after a
certain stamp designer made a comment about how everybody colour's him ginger
;-) I did see this as a little challenge so this one's just for you.
Here's what I used...
That's Crafty! Surfaces MDF Upright - Torn Note Page
That's Crafty! Gesso - White
That's Crafty Stamp Set - Serenity Collection - Bentley
Darkroom Door Eclectic Stamp - Camera (any other would be fine)
Leonie Pujol Stamp Set - Feathery Flourish
Tim Holtz Stamps Set - Crazy Things
Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Crazy Things
That's Crafty! Dinky Stencils - Star Shower and Hearts
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Paints - Lake
Wanaka, Sage, Cherry Blossom, Snowflake and Cherry Red
Versafine Ink Pad - Onyx Black
Stazon Ink Pad - Jet Black
Distress Ink Pad - Black Soot
Archival Ink Pad - Hydrangea (Wendy Vecchi Designer Series)
Clarity Stamp Super Smooth White Card
250gsm
Polychromo Pencils
Gems and lace from stash
Here's what I did...
I began by sponging over the entire
upright and base with gesso. Brayer over layers of Lake Wanaka and Sage, using
the Snowflake every so soften. Take the Cherry Blossom and brayer over softly until
happy. Take the Dinky Heart stencil and pounce through with the Cherry Red
randomly. Take the stars stencil and pounce through with the metallics paint
randomly. I wanted a little more interest on the background so I took the small
hearts element from the Leonie stamp set and stamped it randomly using the Hydrangea ink. My upright is now ready for Mr & Mrs Bentley.
Stamp Bentley twice onto smooth white
card and colour with pencils. You could use any colouring medium you like for
this. Stamp the camera onto the same card and heat emboss to add texture. Cut
out the pieces. Take the Crazy Things elements from the stamp set and stamp
onto smooth white card and colour. I used the matching die set to cut out the
elements but if you don't have them it's no problem as they are very easy to
cut out. Now glue all the elements onto the upright. Take the gems and glue
onto Mrs Bentleys collar. I chose shades of amethyst to match her colouring and
the background.
Take the letters and stamp Mr & Mrs using Stazon ink. I used a Stamping Platform for this as I do with all my stamping to ensure I got the letters in the right place. Take the Black Soot Distress ink and blend lightly around the edges and do the same on the base.
Take the piece of lace and glue to the
bottom of the upright low enough to allow the lace to frill out on the base
once mounted, as you can see in the above picture. Mount the upright onto the
base. One happy Mr & Mrs Bentley dreaming of a happy future.
All for now. Enjoy the rest of your
week and hope the see you all again next week.
Much love,
Bev x
