Soar by Lynne Moncrieff

This project sees me layering one of the fabulous That’s Crafty! greyboard large butterflies with one of the smaller Relics & Artifacts resin butterflies.

Supplies

That’s Crafty! Surfaces White/Greyboard (I use largest panel which I cut to require size)
Golden Fluid Acrylic Titanium White
Extras: Relics & Artifacts Velveteen Flowers, calico, sari ribbon

Instructions

(I like to prepare all white/greyboard surfaces with Gesso but that is purely my own preference)

Apply Grunge Paste to Arch. Once dry, apply Infusions, generously misting with water.  Also apply Infusions to white/greyboard panel, cut to required size as backing for Arch.  Leave to dry. Once Infusions are nearly dry, apply Antique Gold acrylic. My favoured method is applying with fingertips. Leave to dry. Once completely dry, apply random touches of Fluid Acrylic.

Apply Infusions to greyboard large butterfly and small R&As butterfly.

Once the greyboard butterfly is dry, repeatedly stamp Affirmation. Doodle around edge of butterfly with fineliner pen. Layer butterflies, trapping a scrap of calico, stained with Infusions (I utilize any excess colour that runs off, collecting onto textiles, papers, etc).

Stamp Soar from one of the Affirmations onto piece of found paper. Layer to butterfly with another piece of Infusions stained calico

Adhere Arch frame to backing before adhering the layered butterflies.

Gather velveteen flowers into a bundle, tying scrap of Infusions stained calico before adhering to Arch, layering with scrap piece of stained corrugated cardboard. Finally, wrap Infusions stained silk sari ribbon around bottom edge of Arch.

Have you managed to take a look at the latest additions to the Surfaces Bits and Pieces Greyboards, lots of new festive related designs.
