Hi all, hope your weekend was wonderful !!
For this Monday, I decided to, at
last, give one of the beautiful Acrylic Uprights a try. I have been almost afraid of trying,
but when I started I think it was not as difficult as first thought!!
I started stamping the crackle pattern from
Texture Stamp Set – Set 2 all around the edges of the Upright with Archival Ink, on what was to become the backside. When dry I stamped the
Catherine Moore Angel stamp, directly onto the acrylic surface, also with black
Archival ink. I don`t think this is available in That`s Crafty shop, but you can
always ask Laura and she will be happy to order it for you.
Then came the play with the Leaf Green and Coffee Archival inks, around the
lower part of the Upright – also I used the circle from Stamp Set 2 to add interest, stamped with Leaf Green too.
Maybe you can see it here under the butterfly!
It was then time for stamping the
lovely birds from Motivational Words Stamp Set - Set 1, above the head of the Angel. And when dry a light
watery coat of Panduro Acrylic Matte Light Blue paint, around her head and
breast. As you can see, I tried to keep the transparency look visible, almost
all over the surface, by only adding light coats of both paints and inks.
After dried I stamped with the
bubbles from Texture Stamp Set –S et 1 around the head and also painted the
halo, using Turquoise Shimmer Paint.
Below the the woman, I then stamped
the script stamp from Stamp Set 1, using black Archival Ink to make it show on the front. Even though the
ink layer was added first, it was no problem seeing it clearly on the front. Also
I added a piece of paper napkin, showing some leaves, also to cover up all the
stamping and painting behind. The angel was painted with Panduro Acrylic Matt, skin colour, to achieve a little face colour.
Then it was time for some working on
the front. First I stamped the
butterfly wings from Lynne`s
Affirmations - Set 1, twice - also in Black Archival Ink. They were then painted with the beautiful Turquoise Shimmer Paint, in the little white spots and I painted the
butterfly body, using the Charcoal Shimmer Paint.
The last thing to do was give her
wings, from the gorgeous embellishments wings sheet. I first added Golden Coarse Pumice Gel to them, to
add some texture, and when dry I painted with Dark Blue Shimmer Paint and a
little Charcoal in between, to show more interest. Me, being an old doll maker, felt something was missing, so I had to dress my angel with a lovely tulle
collar, to which I also added a bit of beautiful Shimmer paint.
The feet for the upright, I gave a coat of Leaf Green Archival Ink,
before adhering real bark and dried mini leaves, found on one of my tours, in
nature.
Materials I used:
That's Crafty! Shimmer Paints - Turquoise, Dark Blue, Charcoal
Character Constructions Stamp Set - Angel
Archival Inks - Jet Black, Coffee, Leaf Green
Panduro Acrylic Matt Paint - Light Blue
and Skin Colour
Golden Coarse Pumice Gel
Green Tulle from the stash
Piece of Paper Napkin
Nature - Dried Bark and Leaves
