Citrus Snowdrops by Bev Hilton

Hello everyone. I'm here again for my weekly spot on the blog. Today I'm sharing another card I made a few weeks back using the fabulous Dinky Snowdrop stencil, and of course a mixture of others too. This card only used one stamp which is the wording.

Here's what I used...

White Linen Card Stock
That's Crafty! Dinky Stencils - Snowdrops (TC091), Honeycomb (TC031), Harlequin (TC019), Dragonfly (TC051)
Distress Inks - Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserve

Here's what I did...

I began with inking through the 8x8 Big Floral stencil with Twisted Citron and Mustard Seed Distress inks. I then removed the stencil and gently brushed over with same colours to soften the white. Using Mowed Lawn Distress ink I softly blended through the Dinky Snowdrop stencil to the left and again to the right slightly lower than the main image was to be placed. I then placed the stencil into the middle and embossed the image with DecoArt Modeling Paste. I did the same with the Dragonfly stencil to place the four dragonflies.

I heated the snowdrops with a heat tool to get a slightly bubbled effect to give more texture. I set this aside to dry and began work on the frame which I cut from a stitched die by Sue Wilson. I used the DecoArt paste again through the Harlequin and Dragonfly stencils. Once dry I blended over with Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seed Distress inks. I then decided to add some circles with the Word Series stencil in Seedless Preserve.

Back to main image. I replaced the Snowdrop stencil over texture paste and painted through with gold pearl texture paste on the flower heads. I then used gilding wax on the stems in emerald. I did the same with the dragonflies using gilding wax in brass. I decided to add some more texture to the card with the Honeycomb stencil and sparkle medium in each corner of the card. Once dry I stamped the wording in black Versafine ink.

I mounted the frame to my card, then mounted onto green card stock before mounting onto my white card base.

All for now and see you again soon.

Much love,
Bev xxx
