Oh wow - have you
seen all the new That’s Crafty! goodies that were launched on Hochanda last
week! Today I am sharing one of my designs for the show and it is one of the
very large MDF tags – GiganTags. These fabulous surfaces are 15 x 7.5 inches. I
decided to add lots of embellishments and layers so there are quite a few steps
involved. I have primarily used three of the new Shimmer Paints – Aquamarine,
Copper and Orange.
Background Tag (Top left)
·
Cover the surface in PaperArtsy Fresco
Chalk paint
·
Once dry add texture paste through the
8inch square clock stencil and also the Dinky grid stencil
·
Add some watery washes in places of
black and ultramarine paint - separately, drying in between to provide a little
contrast to the Shimmer Paints
·
Sponge Shimmer Paints - Turquoise and
Copper (That’s Crafty!)
·
Sponge a little white for contrast
Clocks
·
Stipple black gesso to create some texture - dry
·
Sponge Copper and Turquoise (That’s Crafty!)
4x4 inch panels, small butterflies and corner pieces
·
Stipple black gesso to create some texture - dry
·
Sponge Copper, Orange Shimmer Paints (That’s
Crafty!) and I also added a little Rusty Red (Art Alchemy)
·
Butterflies were embossed first
Large Butterflies
·
Emboss butterflies with embossing folder (I used
a Big Shot and ONE plate – as the greyboard is thick)
·
Painted with PaperArtsy Chalk paint
·
Sponged with Turquoise and then Copper to
highlight the texture
Once everything was dry I adhered it all together and
added some words from Tim Holtz Metallic Stickers.
See you next
week!
