Hello all, Monday again and time for
a little walk in my garden!
This sweet girl is out on her tour, trying
to catch a wonderful dragonfly in her netting.
She is stamped directly onto the
wonderful That`s Crafty! Surfaces White/Greyboard Postcard after it had dried, from a coat of gesso and
from sprays made with Infusions: Slime, Royal Blood and Sleight Blue. Her dress
was then painted with Slime dissolved in water, using a cotton bud.
When all dry, I used the snow drop
stencil with texture paste to form the snowdrop heads and above them, the
dragonflies stencil too. Leaves and stems, were added with the stencil using
Archival Ink in Leaf Green. Infusions Slime, dissolved in water, added details
on the flower head, when painted onto the white heads.
After the dragonflies had dried, they
got a coat of Crackle Paste and left to
dry again. I then dripped Walnut Ink into the crackles to make the wings look a
little realistic J
The sky was created with Archival
Ink Hydrangea also added with a cotton bud.
The beautiful border from That’s
Crafty! Word Stencil: Imagine was added with Archival Ink Coffee on top and
bottom of the Surface. Lynne’s lovely Affirmation, was stamped also with
Archival Inks in Coffee, on a stained paper piece and added on top of a piece
of tulle.
In the top right corner I also
adhered a piece of tulle, in same green tones, and finished with a beautiful
Abalone shell button.
Lastly, I added Archival Ink Coffee
onto all four edges of the postcard.

Dorthe
How wonderful that we both chose Dragonflies to feature this week Dorthe, it must be our love of all things Nature that brought out our thoughts. Reminds me of the cover of an old book, love how you have created a scene with the stencils. Beautiful.. Hugs Tracey xx

Just love this! Like an old book cover xxx
ReplyDeleteSo charming! I love the textured snowdrops, and the crackled dragonflies - though I have to hope the sweet little girl doesn't catch any of them. I agree with Nikki that it looks like a vintage book illustration or cover.

Sweet and adorable fairy art! I love how you stencil in different ways, with texture and without. It is very vintage looking! The dragonfly wings are amazing with that texture!
