Scribbly Tags by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone

I have got all scribbly this week using one of Dina Wakley’s recently released stencils. This piece started as only one tag (the one on the left) as I had used it to clean some paint up with but when I finished it I decided to make 2 more to make a set of 3.

Here’s What I Did:

In true Dina style I randomly added paints to the tags using foam and my fingers. I then stencilled paint through a selection of Dina’s stencils in contrasting colours. I then scribbled through the stencil using a Stablio black pencil, but any water reactive pencil will do. II then softened the pencil using a grey distress crayon, the softness of the crayon slightly blends the pencil. I have added distress crayon to the lips and the eye lids, every girl needs a touch of colour. Her cheeks are torn pieces of dictionary page coloured with distress crayons.

I then added additional details adding bits of washi tape and then some stamping using some of Dina’s handwriting stamps. There are a few words stamps at the bottom of each one which are all from a selection of Dina’s stamps. I have also added some dots of white paint which have been added using Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil.

Here’s What I Used:

Stablio Black Pencil or Similar
Dina Wakley Stencils - Scribbled Faces, Bullseye, Essentials, Spinners
Dina Wakley Stamps – Scribbly Fashion Figures, Scribbled Text Elements, Textures, From the Past, Scribbly Women
Dictionary Pages from my Stash

Have a great week
