Using a baby wipe I painted the canvas with the blue, green and orange paint.

Next I started to layer stencils. I have found that using a Tim Holtz Ink Blending Pad is the best way for me to get a good stencil image, as the pad is completely flat when attached to the handle and I get less seepage under the stencil. It does not matter whether you use the rectangle or round, through the round works best in small areas. I pop the pad onto the surface of think, pounce it off a little before using with the stencil, I don’t want it overloaded with paint. Of course once used for paint, you can wash them immediately and reuse with paint, but never again with ink, so you might want to keep two sets of pads.

I started layering stencils mainly using each stencil with one colour in three places on the board, and then adding the next stencil in another colour slightly overlapping the previous one.

In this way I built up stencils moving closer to the centre then used the mask section of the Tina stencil to keep a clear area in the middle.

Once all the background stencilling was done I used the stencil part of Tina to add definition to the face using the yellow, orange and red to stand out from the background.  I edged her with the white sharpie to again add definition. I toyed with over-stamping the face with flowers but decided it might be hard to see it against the busy background.

By flicking the Sharpie I added with some white splatters for fun!  And finally I used the Modelling Paste through the word Live from the Donna Downey Intention stencil.
