Her Artful Heart by Lynne Moncrieff

This project came about as a playtime session. All I knew, I wanted to use a scallop shrine frame (leftover from having used the shadowbox element for a sample) and Character Constructions Inner Child No. 5. Although this is one of Catherine Moore’s older stamp collections, this particular stamp plate is new to me. It seems a very apt stamp for all of us, with art being in our hearts!

Supplies

Character Constructions Inner Child No. 5 (Art Doll, Paper Doll, Play)
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish: Antactic, Blue Oyster, Seth Apter Limited Edition Set 1
Black Thread
Baby Wipes
Teabag Paper/Natural Tissue Paper
Heart Button
Artist Paper (from Stampington Magazine) – substitute by applying Fresco paints to PaperArtsy Smoothy Cardstock, blending with baby wipes.

Note – Butterfly stamp is from Character Constructions Theatre of Dreams No. 17

Catherine Moore’s complete collections of Character Constructions stamps can be viewed @ http://www.characterconstructions.com/.

That’s Crafty! are the only U.K. stockists of Character Constructions stamps. If you have any queries about particular stamps being available from That’s Crafty!, please contact Laura Holland, who will be more than happy to order any Character Constructions for you.

Instructions

Apply Gesso to frame and white/greyboard then apply Antarctic and Blue Oyster. Apply Infusions onto this, misting with water, allowing to drip down panel – a lighter application on the white/greyboard panel.

Apply Rust Finishes from FolkArt only in small areas and also Seth Apter’s paints. With mister bottle and baby wipe, blend areas of Terracotta (Seth’s paint). I was initially hesitant about this colour but it was the perfect colour to tie in with the Artist paper.  Adhere frame to panel.

Stamp Art paper doll, butterflies and paper dolls onto the Artist paper. Fussy cut. Stamp the wings of the Art doll onto tea bag paper.  Fussy cut before layering over the main image, only adhering at base of wings. Add a butterfly to her head. Thread heart button with cotton thread before adhering to centre of her heart.

Stamp ART (from That’s Crafty! Inspirational Quotes) and PLAY onto teabag paper, forming into little tags, attaching by thread to butterflies. Adhere to panel.

Stamp sentiment onto tea bag paper. Adhere to paper dolls, as though they are holding a banner, attaching to top edge of frame.

Until next week,

Wishes
Lynne
