Dinky Stencils and Distress Oxides by Nikki Acton

Today I am sharing some quick male cards using one of the new That’s Crafty! Dinky stencils, Distress Oxides and Distress inks. The card on the left mostly uses Distress Oxides (DO) while the one on the right uses Distress Inks (DI).

I started with some white cardstock and some Cut and Dry Foam and added different inks over the surface. (Left – Cracked Pistachio DI, Fired Brick DO, a little Vintage Photo DO; Right – Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron. Mermaid Lagoon DI’s). I spritzed both with water to get the inks to react and blotted with kitchen roll. Once dry I repeated this in a couple of areas.

Next I took a darker or contrasting colour – Vintage Photo DO for the left and Spiced Marmalade DI on the right and inked through the Cogs Dinky Stencil (TC090).

I inked some scraps of card to coordinate, stamped the greeting and added a die cut cog from my stash before matt and layering the cards.

See you next week!

Nikki
