I have been playing with one of the recently released
Carabelle Studio stamps by Zorrotte and have made a 6” x 6” MDF Panel.
Here’s What I Did:
Taking
one of That’s Crafty! 6”x 6” MDF panels I first gave it a coat of gesso to prime
it. I then selected my colour scheme and using a selection of PaperArtsy Fresco
paints I randomly added paint to the background until I had achieved the
covering I wanted.
I then stencilled through a couple of That’s Crafty! Dinky
stencils to add some detail. I also stamped with paint adding some more detail
to the background. I then stencilled the word ‘Dream’, again using a That’s
Crafty! stencil, which I highlighted using a white paint pen.
Final detail to the background was the edition
of paint lines using an old credit card. At this point I felt the piece needed
to be framed a little so I added the black edge using one of the texture edges
that the large word stencils come with.
Onto a
piece of stamping paper I stamped the images and cut them out, as the little
girl has some very fine bits to her I didn’t cut those bits out but stamped her
directly onto the background and paper pierced the stamped image over the top.
She has been lightly coloured with coloured pencils. I stamped the sentiment
that comes with the set directly onto the background.
Here’s What I Used:
Carabelle Stamps designed by Zorrotte - ‘Innocence’ & ‘Je cree donc je suis’
That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils – Punchinella & Numbers
Old
Credit Card
