Hanging Around with Bentley by Nikki Acton

Today’s project is one of the combined MDF and acrylic wall hangings from That’s Crafty!; the main panel is MDF and the cogs which hang from it are acrylic.

Here is what I did:

MDF Panel

I sponged PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylics in Chalk and South Pacific to create the background. I then printed the words on my computer and used an image transfer technique to transfer to the panel. There are lots of methods and mediums for image transfer but I just printed onto thin glossy paper (so the printer ink sits on the surface) and then placed carefully on my MDF. (The words need to be a mirror image first). This technique does not give a perfect result – but I quite like the mottled finish. Finally I add PaperArtsy Candy Floss through the That’s Crafty! Paws stencil and around edge of panel.

Acrylic Cogs

I stamped Bentley in Stazon on each of the cogs on the front and then painted them with the same combination of Fresco paints on the back. I added some highlights with Promarkers on the stamped side.

See you next week!

Nikki
