Hi
everyone,
Donna
here today with a quirky mash up of stamps using one of That’s Crafty! new
journal pages..….well it just had to be done!
What to do:
Use
the white paper side of the A4 white/greyboard journal and randomly and lightly
brayer on some Fresco paints, dry thoroughly.
I
used some drywall tape (I highly recommend popping into your local DIY shop for
this) to dab some Distress ink through it for the little squares effect you see
but of course a stencil will do as well.
Take
a Dina Wakley stamp and randomly apply it on the background with black Archival
ink. Next take a DecoArt Media mister, in one of the lovely pink/purple shades,
dribble down some paint from the top corners, dry thoroughly once more.
Now
we’re going to begin the mash up! Stamp the body of Penny onto a piece of
Strathmore Mixed Media Paper and colour in with Distress markers, fussy cut out
but before adhering to the background, slide the Rubber Dance flower stamp
(which was also coloured with Distress markers) under the body before adhering
to the background. Add Bentley’s head, which was stamped on a piece of Gelli
print, to the body, smear a little bit of black Gelato under the figure to
‘ground’ it.
For
the finishing touches add a word from the Beki stamp set and a sentiment from
Katzelkraft which is very apt I think!!
Oh
and have you noticed what’s in the flower…..take a look……

Hope
you like it

Awww, Bentely got himself a body! How cool is that, and why haven't I thought of it? Thank you for sharing this fun idea, Donna! I love this cat stamp SO much and I will be giving him human bodies from now on ;) How fun!! Also love the background you've made - not too busy, just enough to make it very interesting. Nice touch with the smaller cat inside the flower. Thanks for using that flower, btw - I'm so excited that our stamps now are available at That's Crafty!! xx

Love this, it made me laugh, but so clever and I love that pop of hot orange and yellow against the cool blue and purple. I may have to try some head swapping now too.
ReplyDeleteha ha - brilliant fun and great idea for the use of those stamps.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and that sentiment is cool!
