Hi Everyone
I don’t make New Year resolutions but I did decide to make a
conscious effort to do more art journaling, I think that decision is driven by
the many plastic boxes under the spare bed that are full of cards that I have
made over the years.
That’s Crafty! recently launched, on Hochanda, a new range of
word stencils and sets of clear quote stamps. Due to illness and work
commitments I sadly wasn’t part of the Hochanda launch but have managed to have
a play with some of them in my art journal.
Here’s What I Did:-
I am
playing in my Dylusions black art journal and these pages already had a rough
layer of pink and gold paint on them as I had used them to clean my brayer off
on from a previous project.
With the gold paint already being down I ended up
making quite an opulent double spread. I then stencilled more gold paint
through using a Dinky stencil. I added some black stamping using a fine grid
roller stamp that I found in a drawer having a sort out!
I then stamped and
heat embossed, in gold, Tracy Scott's beautiful feather stamp. I have then
coloured it using paint, I love the richness of the blue. I then stencilled the
word Create and Art using paint. I went around the words with a black pen and
drew in a little drop shadow on the word Art. I then added the quote, one from
the new stamp set, again heat embossing it in gold.
I added
some dot stencilling and marks using an old credit card and a spray can lid.
Final touch was to flick red paint across the pages.
