The Two Of Us by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, this week I’m sharing the first side of my second Hochanda make which is the splat upright. Because it’s such a quirky shape, I decided that the rather quirky and cute Treena fit the bill so I’ve created a rather bright and funky look.

Ingredients:

That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils – Bubble Wrap, Bubbles Background
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Paints – Blue Green Light, Yellow Green Light, Green Gold, Cobalt Teal Hue

Recipe:

Give the splat and base a coat of gesso on both sides to start with. Next I applied dots of the green and blue paints to the first side of the splat and spread the colour with a brayer. I carried on until the whole of the front was covered.

I used the bubbles stencil with white gesso to add random areas of pattern diagonally across the painted background. I followed this with the bubble wrap stencil (my new favourite I think!) and the cobalt paint, applying again in a random fashion until I was happy with the effect.

I stamped Treena twice on stamping card, together with two of the heart shaped balloons from the Serena set, complete with strings and one with just the balloon. I coloured all of the images with watercolour pencils and cut them out when dry.

I glued the images to the painted splat, positioning the two birds one above the other, adding a heart to the lower one to form a wing. I stuck the balloons on with foam tape for a little dimension.

I finished off with my chosen small talk sticker, which I cut into pieces and added them across the splat.

We have a new challenge today over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so don’t forget to check it out at 8am to see how you can win a great prize just by entering!

Have a great weekend and see you next week.
