Hi
there, this week I’m sharing the reverse side of my top hat upright, the Cat on the Hat being the first side shown last week. This side is rather girly as I
was imaging a lady friend for Bentley whom I’ve thought of as Daisy so she has
a floral garland around her.
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – Bentley, Beki
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints – Lilac, Lavender, Orchid
Recipe:
Give
the upright a couple of coats of gesso to prepare the base for further
painting. When that was dry, I swiped on the 3 shades of purple and pink paints
in a roughly striped fashion to tie up with the other side, which has stripes
in shades of blue.
I
then used the dragonfly stencil with the Lavender and Quinacridone Violet
paints to add flights of dragonflies on the painted background. I added a row
in varying sizes across the hat brim to pull it all together.
I
next stamped Bentley and quite a few flowers (the larger one from the Beki
set), inking up just the flower heads plus a butterfly on white card using
black ink. I coloured all the images with watercolour pencils and then cut them
out.
I
added the cheeky puss to the background with foam tape and then arranged the
flowers into a sort of garland, sticking them on once I was happy with the arrangement.
To
finish off my top hat, I prepared the base using the same paints as those on
each side, having added chevrons to the cat in the hat side and dragonflies to
this side.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
