Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, I have a bright and cheery journal page to share this week as I couldn’t resist inking up the very smiley Bentley – he makes me happy just to look at him!

Ingredients:

That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – Bentley, Beki, Treena (for the bliss text)
Distress Inks – Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick

Recipe:

First colour the page with the Distress inks, starting with the yellow and leaving an oval shape roughly in the centre un-inked. Follow with the orange ink and then the pink.

Stamp Bentley in the un-inked area and stamp some of the larger flower from the Beki set across the bottom so that they surround the cat. I stamped 4 at various heights. Stamp some extra flowers on white stamping card to use for layering, together with the large butterfly.

Colour all of the images with watercolour pencils. I turned Bentley into my version of a Siamese cat as he reminds me of those naughty pussies in Lady and the Tramp. I made the flowers very bright and cheery to go with my happy theme.

I next stamped the speech bubble over Bentley’s head and stamped my chosen “bliss” text in the bubble. I added a little toning colour to make the bubble stand out. I stamped the remaining text on as shown and added a sticker for the “be”. I also stamped some text all over the lighter areas using the orange ink to add some texture to my page.

To finish off, I cut out some of my extra flowers and leaves and added these to the page with the butterfly using foam tape to add a little dimension.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.
