Textured Tag by Mandy Chilvers

We'd like to thank Mandy very much for guesting for us in October
and for all her fantastic projects.

This week, I’ve created a beautifully textured tag using a combination of mixed media products. Using the Lindy's spray and the metallic paint make a beautiful combination which changes colour as you turn the tag side to side.

Items used:

Arrow Die Cut

How I made this texture tag

Take your kraft card tag and using the Dinky brick stencil and texture paste add some texture to both long sides of the tag. Leave to dry.

Once the texture paste is dry, dab some of the Cosmic Shimmer paint over the tag using the Cut and Dry Foam including the texture paste. Don’t add too much…. mainly to cover the texture paste.

Spray with the Lindy’s spray. Dry with a heat tool. Make sure it is thoroughly dry as you will be using embossing powder next.

Turn your tag lengthways. Take your Carabelle stamp and use your Versamark, stamp and emboss with the black embossing powder.

Whilst you are embossing, also emboss the arrow die cut with the black embossing powder and Versamark ink. Set the die cut to one side.

Add some turquoise dots through the CW stencil with Cut and Dry Foam and your Art Alchemy turquoise ink.

Then still using the turquoise paint and your Cut and Dry, add paint to the edges of the tag.

Spray lightly with the Lindy's spray again. Dry.

Next add a some amount of turquoise paint with some water and some ‘splatters’ to the middle of the tag. Dry.

Add some splatters with gesso mixed with water as well. A fan brush does the ‘splattering’ very well.

Add your die cut arrow and the fibres to the hole in the top of the tag.

Finally add a word stickers from the Small Talk booklet.
