Hi Everyone
Not long now………… until we all park our cars around the
corner and sit in darkened rooms with our TV’s on mute pretending that there is
nobody in to avoid small people knocking at our doors!!!! The up side though is
that we can have a lot of fun in our craft rooms scaring the beejeebers out of
ourselves as we dig out all our scary stash.
Following on
from my post last week as I venture to ink up stamps in my collection that
haven’t seen sight nor sound of an ink pad I share with you this week another
first outing, this time Tim Holtz Day of the Dead #1 set.
Here’s What I Did:-
The
first thing I have done is stamp and colour one of Tim’s Day of the Dead
characters, I have coloured my image using blendable pencils as I like to
smooth the pencil strokes out with blending solution. The background took the
most time blending first with a very light grey and then building up to darker
greys continually blending out using the blending solution and a paper stump.
The row of flowers runs along the bottom of the image but as that made the
image to big for the frame I stamped the flower part again and coloured and cut
out and added to the bottom of the frame.
I then
wanted to add her into a frame so I covered a piece of That’s Crafty! greyboard
with adhesive foil sheet and die cut the postage stamp frame. To add some
texture I put it in an embossing folder and ran it through my Big Shot again. I
then smeared DecoArt black antiquing cream over the foil and let it almost dry
before rubbing it off to dull the foil sheet down.
I
stamped the text on to the card that I wanted to show from behind the frame and
I stamped my sentiment underneath.
I added
my frame to the card using 3d foam to give a 3d effect to it.
