Hi Everyone
That’s Crafty! have extended their range of acrylic pieces
which now includes clock stacks in a variety of shapes for you to alter. These
new items were launched last Friday on Hochanda, you wiil still be able to
watch Fridays shows on catch up on the Hochanda website.
I am sharing with you the clock I altered for the TV shows.
The clocks are 1 layer of MDF (back) and 3 layers of
acrylic, the MDF numbers and a clock mechanism. All you have to do is decorate
however you wish.
Here’s What I Did:-
The
first thing I do, once I have my theme, is work out my layers. I then layout
the acrylic making sure that I have removed the protective film (I have made
that mistake before!!)
I then
stamp on all my stamped items on each layer using black Stazon ink. I keep
putting the stack back together just checking that it is lined up correctly. If
not you can easily remove your stamping with rubbing alcohol. Once I was happy
with the placement of my stamped images each one was coloured from behind using
a combination of PaperArtsy Fresco paints and Posca paint pens.
Once happy with
my acrylic layers I decorated the MDF back piece. I actually covered the MDF
with book pages from an Alice in Wonderland story book and gave them a light
coat of watered down gesso. I then stencilled through the Harlequin Dinky stencil
using black Archival ink and Cut and Dry Foam. I also added some hearts using
red acrylic paint through the Hearts Dinky stencil, when all was dry I edged
the background with Tumbled Glass Distress ink.
Last stage was to paint the
numbers with white paint and stamp the chequerboard onto them. Before finally
putting all the layers together I added a selection of mini playing cards to
each layer.
Here are the layers before I put the stack together
stack them together
adding the clock mechanism then finished your clock off.
What I Used:-
Stamps
are all Carabelle Studio – Background Horloges (clocks), Couture et Damier,
Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland
Posca Paint Pens
