New Sunrise by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

Donna here today with a quick CAS card for you. To be honest when a set of stamps are this beautiful that’s all you need to do as they ‘speak’ for themselves.

What to do:

I used watercolour paper for this but a sheet of Strathmore mixed media paper works just as well (if not better).

You want to achieve a really soft water colour effect but with more control so grab your Distress markers and start to use them directly on the stamps. You can mix the colours together or just use a single colour.

After you’ve coloured in, spritz with a little bit of water. Now here’s the important part, don’t over saturate the stamp as the colour will run too much and you’ll have no definition on the image.

Stamp the images quite firmly on the paper and you should get a beautiful and delicate watercolour look, dry right away.

Use Archival black ink for the sentiment and then scribble a shade of grey Distress marker on your craft sheet, pick up with a water brush and flick over the paper for a finishing touch. Mount onto black card and then white cardstock.

I absolutely love this effect, so simple to achieve but so pretty too ;)
