Acrylic Album Fun by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

Donna here today with a new acrylic and MDF album featuring a window.

This is the completed front of it, there’s rather a lot to mention here so I’ll try and keep it brief so you get the general idea!

The front cover was created using Fresco paints, That’s Crafty! cogs Dinky stencil which I put Decoart Modeling paste through, Decoart sand texture was added to the corners to create some more texture.

A mixture of Prima and Crafters Companion stamps were also used, a little bit of Treasure wax gold was also applied to highlight the details.

This is the inside which matches the front cover with the addition of some very nice white paint splattering which is fun…..until you discover that you’ve coated everything else on your table with it! I used black Archival for the stamping on the MDF.

I treated this album like an acrylic stack rather than stand alone pages so I was careful with the placement of the images to get the 3D effect.

I used the MDF panel as the back of the album and this is where I created the background with Fresco paints, applied with an old credit card, Dinky stencils used with Distress inks. The stamps are Tim Holtz, Carabelle, PaperArtsy etc stamped with Stazon black ink.
The images where applicable were coloured with Fresco paints which dry brilliantly on the acrylic as they’re chalky and quick drying.

Finally this is the back of the album which I painted in a black Fresco paint, stamped the Tim Holtz image in Versamark and heat embossed in white.

  8. Yes, that is the danger with spattering - but it's so worth it! This is brilliant, Donna.
